REGULATION
Under the auspices of WAFA – World Association of Festivals and Artists,
the Municipality of Seia and Tourism Central Region of Portugal, is held
the first edition of the International Song Festival of Serra da Estrela (FICSE).
THE PURPOSE OF THE FESTIVAL
The Festival is organized to promote and stimulate artistic creativity,
within a healthy spirit of competition; to make possible the discovery and
the launch of new values; to stimulate the creation of musical repertoire
aimed at children and young people; to promote friendship between children
of different nationalities, and to provide music teachers exchange of
experiences, including music and dance interpretation techniques.
PLACE AND DATE OF THE CONTEST
The rounds and the
final Gala–Concert will take place at the Cineteatro Casa Municipal da
Cultura, in Seia, between 27th and 30th of August
2015, according to the following schedule:
– 26, Wednesday: foreign participants (competitors and accompanying)
and non-local Portuguese travel to Seia;
– 27, 28, 29 and 30: Festival days (Gala–Concert on Sunday);
– 31, Monday: departure of foreign participants (and non-local nationals).
PARTICIPATION
The participation in this
festival is open to children and young people, according to the following
age groups:
– Soloists from 6 to 9 years old;
– Soloists from 10 to 13 years old;
– Soloists from 14 to 17 years old;
– Soloists from 18 to 25 years old;
– Vocal sets from 6 to 25 years old.
PROCEDURE
Each contestant will participate with two songs. These can be original
or not, sung in the national language of the competitor, or not.
Contestants will sing with the voice in direct sound, on instrumental
playback. The songs cannot exceed the duration of four minutes (4').
INTERNATIONAL JURY
The performance of the contestants will be evaluated by an international
jury of leading personalities in the world of the music. Jury decisions
are final and cannot be appealed.
CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
To participate, must be filled and mailed the application form at the
Festival (attached to these Regulations). With the form, should be sent
a copy of the Identity Card, Citizen Card or Passport. Entries must be
made until 31 July 2015.
Competitors will have to pay an admission fee, in the following value:
– soloists: 40 Euros;
– duets: 30 Euros per element;
– trios: 25 Euros per element;
– quartets (and larger groups): 20 Euros per element.
The organization of the Festival makes available, for the amount of 330
Euros per person (competitors and accompanying), the following services:
– Full board accommodation (breakfast, lunch and dinner);
– Transfer airport of Lisbon–Seia (on 26th August) and Seia–airport
of Lisbon (on 31st August);
– Touristic and cultural entertainment program extra-festival (excursions,
visits, promenades, etc.)
Meals are served in accordance with the following schedule:
– August 26: dinner;
– Days 27 to 30: breakfast, lunch and dinner;
– Day 31: breakfast.
AWARDS
In addition to trophies, prizes and other souvenirs, there will be the
following cash prizes:
– "Grand Prix" (absolute winner of the Festival): 1000 Euros
For each age group:
– 1st place: 500 Euros;
– 2nd place: 200 Euros;
– 3rd place: 100 Euros.
There will also be the Prize Maestro José Marinho, worth 1000 Euros.
Maestro José Marinho, prematurely disappeared, was a great supporter
and promoter of the Portuguese music, so this special prize that brings
his name will be used exclusively to domestic competitors.
All competitors will receive a certificate of participation.
FINAL DISPOSITIONS
Festival participants authorize the Organization to use the sounds and
images of their performances to promote the Festival itself.
